The start of spring

A black and white image of trees reflected in a puddle. In the centre, there are circular waves rippling out and distorting the reflection of the trees.

Hello. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

Anyway, today is St David’s Day, the first of March, and the first day of spring (in meteorological terms, at least).

Doing

  • Blossom is out on the damson trees, and the filbert tree is draped in red catkins. We planted the first of the broad beans in the late winter sun.
  • Dug another bed under the oldest damson tree, watched over by some chatty robins.
  • Made buckwheat pancakes (a little later than Pancake Day).
  • Joined Stone Club (https://stoneclub.rocks)
  • Explored a new bit of Vauxhall I’d not been to before. The Thames looked higher than normal.
